10/14/2023 EnchantaVaughn Approved Behavior: QMHPA arrived for the session and greeted Ms. Broadnax. QMHPA assessed Ms. Broadnax’s current stress/anxiety levels. QMHPA inquired about her day. She verbalized to QMHPA her day was going well. Ms. Broadnax did not present any symptoms of S/I or H/I at the time of the session. Intervention: QMHPA used a person-centered approach to assist Ms. Broadnax with improving family relations and independent living skills. QMHPA engaged Ms. Broadnax in role play and role reversal activities to educate her on appropriate, assertive, and respectful ways to express her feelings and concerns towards her family. QMHPA encouraged Ms. Broadnax to discuss and verbalize her frustrations and feelings of depression. QMHPA engaged Ms. Broadnax in calming techniques (slow breathing) to assist her with decreasing anger and frustration. Response: Ms. Broadnax maintained a cooperative attitude throughout the session; however, she displayed anger when expressing her feelings by using profanity and swearing. Ms. Broadnax reported that her daughter has been getting out of control at school and when she corrects her the way that a mother should her boyfriend tries to step in and correct her. Ms. Broadnax stated that she hates it when he does that because her daughter needs to learn and accept the consequences that she gives her without him interfering. Ms. Broadnax actively engaged in the role play and role reversal activities and demonstrated a clear understanding of appropriate ways to communicate her thoughts and feelings to her family.
